Mihir Gandhi’s Blog

Hello all-

I am Mihir Gandhi – a software developer. I am originally from Mumbai, India (if you have not already guessed from the header image). I graduated from the prestigious Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN with B.S. in Computer Science degree. Currently, I work for ASAP Automation, a Warehouse management and logistics software company based in Louisville, KY.

I have three passions – technology, finance, and politics. I think these three areas affect everyone on a day-to-day basis. I find myself spending most of my time in front of the computer, writing programs/software/website, reading finance blogs, and news. Since childhood, I was always passionate about technology – so-much-so, that my relatives dubbed me Gill Bates! (some of my friends claim, that few years later, when people say “Gandhi”, they will follow-up with the question – “Which Gandhi – Mihir or Mahatma? – I know it is far fetched – there can be only one famous Gandhi, but I am glad some people think highly of me ). I also designed and developed my own website when I was 9 years old (I learnt HTML on my own using online tutorials!). While at Purdue, I had the opportunity to take several general management courses, including cost accounting and introduction to corporate finance (btw, I scored 99 percentile in that class, which I took with other finance and management students – I was among the only Computer Science students in that class!). I was a commerce student in India, and that is where my initial passion for finance began.

Future plans? I definitely plan to pursue some formal finance training – likely MBA. I am more interested in India-centric finance, and I am looking for Indian School of Business (Hyderabad, India) or Indian Institute if Management (various cities in India) for my studies. Both these schools are very reputed, and provide world-class education.
