I emailed Lisa this morning asking whether they re-provisioned the gizmo’s with a new admin password. I will wait and see if she responds. If she does not, then on my blog, she is guilty until proven innocent
Lisa,
Some of my blog readers, and other Sunrocket users have expressed concerns that their Linksys Gizmo passwords are changed by Teleblend, rendering them useless if the users decide to go with another (non-teleblend) providers.
Nuvio, a VoIP provider, has also claimed this on their webpage: http://direct.nuvio.com/sunrocket/conversion.html - excerpt directly from their webpage:
“Note: If you have a Linksys SPA-2102, please try to unlock the device using these instructions before signing up for Nuvio service. A small number of customers are reporting difficulty unlocking the Linksys SPA-2102. This is likely due to TeleBlend, in a effort to retain a portion of the SunRocket Customer base having likely reconfigured passwords on the Linksys SPA-2102. Nuvio is currently working on a solution for this issue. Please check this page for updates.”
Is this correct? If so, my readers will appreciate an explanation to this issue, or revelation of the password, since this device was provided by Sunrocket, and not Teleblend.

Thank you for sending this! I sent a brief message on Teleblend’s support page yesterday requesting my admin password from them. No response yet.

For the record – it is 5pm on 7/23 and I have NOT received an email from Lisa. Meanwhile, there is a big debate going at DSLForums about whether TB can re-provision the gizmos provided by SR.

She’s so full of shit.
Gizmos on which the IVR passwords worked 4 days ago are not working now? Gizmos that were accessable by IVR or Admin password can’t have their admin screens looked at anymore?
Sorry, Lisa – as Penn and Teller are so fond of saying, “BULLSHIT”

If Teleblend reprogrammed gizmo passwords, which it appears it has, this is highly illegal under United States code. Section Title 18, section 1030:
“Whoever…intentionally accesses a protected computer without authorization, and as a result of such conduct, causes damage…shall be punished. …a fine under this title or imprisonment for not more than ten years”

This is complete bullshit. I paid for the gizmo, therefore it is mine. Even if the weak and pathetic argument was made that I paid for “service” and not “equipment”, then there would be a question of SunRocket ownership.
In either case, TaliBlend owns NOTHING and has no rights to sabotage the Gizmos.

I am a lawyer and former sunrocket customer. I am also a teleblend customer now, at least until I can have my phone number transferred back to ATT. Love to have more details about your problem, believe me I have a headache regarding this situaton.

Doug, see my comments in other of gandhi.wordpress.com. (Hit the back key if you missed it). Take it easy! I had my number ported back to AT&T. (I had it for 23 yrs. prior to port to SR) I put in my request to AT&T on 7/20 and it was approved on 7/25/07 & activated 7/31 and is now running great. I did have a problem initially w/cust. reps. at AT&T when I was requesting my number be ported over.
I told them “Don’t tell me I can’t have a number that is ACTIVATED & WORKING NOW ON MY PHONE!”. (This was after Sunrocket/Teleblend turned back on everyone’s SR’s numbers around July 18th.)
I never went with Teleblend. My number was owned by Global Crossing which is where AT&T was legally obligated to request it from. NOT SUNROCKET nor TELEBLEND for that matter owns ANY NUMBERS as they only leased the numbers from Global Crossing or Level 3 Communications. When you call AT&T don’t mess with trying to explain to the cust. reps. the entire mess. If your SR no. is still working, merely request that they connect you with the ‘NUMBER TRANSFER DEPT.” at AT&T and say nothing else. They can look up your number & tell who owns it. Chances are Global Crossing or Level 3 Communications owns it.
Unfortunately, I read on the blogs today that there was big time trouble Teleblend was having with Global Crossing. As you may, or may not know, that was one of Sunrocket’s biggest creditors. Teleblend who took over Sunrocket’s majority equipment and only set up 7/17 thought everything would be cool. NOW TELEBLEND & GLOBAL CROSSING ARE IN A BIG DISPUTE over the porting of numbers. Global Crossing owns these numbers, not all, but the majority!! Unfortunately, you need not bother calling Teleblend! If you call 1-877-252-4548 Teleblend has a recording leading you to believe that Global Crossing is having a ‘Complete Network Outage.” That is a lie!!!!
The problem came into being, if you’ll recall Teleblend IMPLIED to everyone their number could be immediately turned on without having to be ported, if they went with Teleblend. Your SR phone was suppose to be TURNED OFF AT MIDNIGHT 8/5. Not so, you can place out-bound calls, but not receive any inbound. The fight is actually Teleblend’s stupidity as Global Crossing wants all numbers as it’s legally rightful owner. Teleblend WILL WIND UP LOSING BIG TIME! Try calling AT&T as mentioned earlier and Global Crossing hopefully will release it. I’m so glad I already insisted on a port before this mess with Teleblend playing God again w/SR’s customers. The recording only started today and Teleblend is blaming it all on Global Crossing.!!!!! LIE, LIE, LIE! They cannot continue to have access and control of those numbers owned by Global Crossing!!!!! I use to work in the legal field (corporate) for 18 yrs. and am so detailed oriented, I sometimes drive people crazy, even worse than many lawyers I use to work with!! Lots of luck Doug!

After talking / yelling / arguing with teleblend, apparently they reset the password randomly when the gizmo get’s it’s new config. so the only way to unlock it is to do a factory reset.
